FAO Statistics Division is responsible to provide statistics on nutrition and agriculture worldwide that must be periodically published and disseminated.

The Division needed a Form and an appropriate means of communication to allow users of a different origin and research objectives of taking advantage of statistical analysis in a more intuitive as possible.

To ensure maximum dissemination of the published data, it was thought an online repository of statistics, up to date.
