VJ Fest Istanbul is an independent visual arts and music festival. The festival has hosted fifty eight video artists from different parts of the world since 2008. On 12-16 June 2012, more than fourty multimedia, video, street artists and musicians will be joining.
Audiovisual artist are from Austria, Andorra, Bulgaria, Boznia, Germany, Holland, Latvia. Poland, Mexico, Spain, Turkey.
This year’s goal is to bring some light and color to public spaces. There also are workshops and seminars on new media technologies at KozaVisual Association. Performances happen at Hazzo Pulo Pasaj, Tarlabasi with video Mappıng, INteractıvıty In İstikal Street and saturday party at Peyote.

MAPPING & LIVE MUSIC: 12 – 13 – 14 JUNE: It is an architecture space intervention. an art form that uses the architecture, shape and conditions of the place to project moving images, light or graphics on abstract surfaces, and thus creating an entirely new atmospheric space. Video projection mapping onto the old buildings: Hazzo Pulo Pasaj & Galata Kulesi & Empty Houses in Tarlabasi.

TARLABASI ACT: 14 JUNE: Where empty houses are waiting to be crashed Local band Ssbunderground will play upon live visuals projections and mapping through the walls and windows. Tarlabasi Cad. Sakızagacı Sok. Music&visuals will start after dark, till midnight.

GRAFFITI: 12-16 JUNE: collaboration wıth Street Art Istanbul and Dutch Consulate, graffiti art in Tarlabasi and on the consulate’s wall for the 400th year of diplomacy between Turkey and Holland.

VJ-DJ PARTY: 16 june saturday@peyote: Real-time visuals and video mixing with dj’s electronic music. Using four projectors, colorful audiovisual space for entertainment. Dance and enjoy… From 22.00 till 04.00.

VJ FEST ISTANBUL is a gathering of visual artists, musicians and researchers since 2008. In four years more than 100 artists (58 VJs) from 20 countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Poland, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, U.S.A. They performed at clubs, theater and open space. They made free workshops, presentations and gave talks.
VJ FEST ISTANBUL is a promoter of collaborations and contacts for VJs on an international level. It is dedicated to VJ arts and the developement of VJ culture. It is open and free. VJ meeting LPM from Rome, Born Digital’s VJ festival Freemote from Utrecht, Visual Berlin from Germany, Experimental Art Events Dimanche Rouge from Paris and are our partners
